The next dock jumping  course with six classes starts

  Monday, August 18, 2008    at Whiskeytown Lake 6:00 - 7:00 pm.

The first class will be held at the Whiskeytown Visitors Center at the lawn. The remaining five classes will be at the lake (directions below).

The class costs $60.00 for non-members, and $20.00 for Shasta Splash Dogs members.

It is $35.00 to join Shasta Splash Dogs. If you join the club and pay $20 for the class, you will realize a savings of $5.00.

We restrict our classes to 15 dog/handler teams. Requirements are listed below.

If we still have space available, you may enroll the night of the class. If you want to enroll the night of the class, please arrive about 20 minutes early so we can complete the paperwork before the class starts. We cannot guarantee there will be room if you don't enroll in advance.

Suggested homework prior to the start of class... Work on a sit, a stay, and recall (come). If you have these skills prior to the beginning of class, you will be ahead.

For the first night, you will need your dog, a lead, a favorite floatable toy (uh, the dog's, not yours).

Directions: (not for first class; it will be held at the Whiskeytown Visitors Center at the lawn)

Go west on 299 to Whiskeytown Lake. Do NOT turn left at the Visitor's Center! Continue straight instead 2.3 miles to the Whiskeytown turn off. Turn right. Drive an additional 1.1 miles to the Whiskeytown Boat Ramp.

  • Dogs must be able to be crated when not practicing.

  • Dogs must have basic obedience skills, such as SIT, STAY, COME.

  • Dogs need to be easily controlled on leash.

  • Dogs MUST accept handling by strangers.

  • No bitches in season

  • NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS

  • You will need a buckle collar, leash, your dog's favorite floatable toy, and plastic bags to pickup after your dog(s).
